  • That’s quite a bit different of an example. What you just said is actions have consequences. If you steal something, your punishment is a monetary penalty. That would be equivalent to, “you raped someone, you pay a fine and go to jail”. If your example had little Timmy stealing candy from the perp, that would be more in line with the initial compare.

The examples don’t hold up the best compared to something like rape because there is an exchange of items vs a physical action. A better comparison would be little Timmy got bit by little Sally so now Timmy gets to bite her back. Rational people don’t teach their kids to bite back instead teaching them to get an adult to handle Sally.

All this to say there’s also self defense which is notably different from retaliation.

  • A small animal not being visible to a human or robotic driver is absolutely a viable excuse. It’s sad that the cat died, but it’s first an foremost the fault of the owners for letting their cat out.

I don’t like the tech bro world and I’m not a fan of driverless vehicles, but this didn’t happen because it was driverless and the outcome would be the same if their were a person behind the wheel.

You can definitely argue against cars being on the road in general, but I was on a bike ride with a buddy the other day, and he hit a squirrel that ran between us and then under his bike. Sometimes bad things happen especially when dealing with animals, and blaming a computer blindly is dumb AF.

  • I have been balls deep in some copilot studio stuff over the past week. It is legitimately one of the worst applications I’ve use in my life. In a business environment, there is no security unless you pay for premium licenses for every user that touches a managed environment. That’s $30 per user per month for basic security. If you have one agent that 1000 employees may use, that’s baseline $30k per month. If you don’t have a managed environment, the anybody in your organization with a copilot license (not copilot studio) can login to the default environment, create agents, and share them indiscriminately. There is no middle ground.

Fuck everything about Microsoft. I really hope that AI kills them.

  • I think we’ll just have to disagree on this one. I don’t think this was trolling and I don’t think this is anything like MTG and Boebert. The speech has brought media attention to this that has reached people that otherwise didn’t know it was happening. His message wasn’t something juvenile like those examples you mentioned but rather something serious. It probably won’t change the minds of anyone in powers, but even if it reaches a few people and moves them a little closer to changing their mind, then it was better than nothing. I don’t believe a second that it’s going to have the adverse effect of turning anyone off that already was never going to be swayed.

I didn’t know that this was happening until this morning when it was half way done. I found out through various articles. I’m sure I’m not the only person that saw that, and I can guarantee that others saw the headline that a Democrat gave a 23 hour speech and found something positive in that. Imo, that’s better than a headline that says no Democrats argued against the current regime. There was no musical number or childish gestures, but a legitimate speech. The delivery of the message is important and this was delivered professionally.

I would be elated if any of my reps did even the bare minimum to try and represent me.
