I lived on the border of Utah and I can confirm it was extremely bad. One of the restaurants wanted to serve wine and they went before the city council to plead their case and the amount of backlash they got was insane.

Every official, policeman, lawyer, judge, etc are all Mormons. When CPS shows up to investigate you can see their Mormon underwear peeking through their clothes. If you guessed that non-Mormons were way more likely to get their kids removed you would be right.

It is very corrupt and very unwelcoming to non-members. For instance, my children were not allowed to play with the Mormon children.

I lived in rural Idaho during the Obama years. The amount of times I had to listen to grown ass men fantasize about shooting or lynching the President was insane. Constant racist and derogatory statements.

My grade school girls reported the boys on their bus would also talk about racist things all the time including killing Obama. The kid that won the Kiwanis award at school made a joke about not being black and the whole school assembly laughed.
