Happened to me with Banjo Kazooie. I got to Grunty and found it needlessly hard, extremely boring, and decided that the fun bit of the game was done. I didn’t need to see the ending.

I think we’ve found one of those mythical people that reply to questions people ask online with “I don’t know”.

I’ve had an account for nineteen years. I think some of the stuff I’ve got is irreplaceable due to its obscurity.

Jokes aside, the old prices weren’t close to a compelling proposition. These consoles have been out for ages and I still haven’t seen much in the way of reasons to buy in. I love my 360, had lots of fun with my Xbox One X, and even the original Xbox had some good stuff (I loved Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, Sid Meier’s Pirates, Crimson Skies, Splinter Cell, XIII, and various others). I’m still waiting on why I should give the slightest shit about the Xbox Series X/S and they’re rapidly running out of road.

I like gaming. That like is not strong enough to extend to that price point.

I was thinking the same - i hadn’t realised that it ever went away (as I don’t play the genres traditionally associated with in game ads).

The old price was too high for me. The raised one made me roll my eyes.

Similarly I gave up trying to keep up with the ever evolving mail server requirements. I’d wake up to find my emails weren’t reaching people because Google and MS had strongarmed some change into place again.

These days I just use inbox.eu for my email.

BioShock Infinite took long enough and the finished product was significantly less interesting than the previews. This looks like it’s going to take twice as long. I don’t see that working out.

I don’t think I’ve encountered a magic system that doesn’t annoy me, unfortunately.

Basically anything focused on fantasy dungeon crawling. I spend my life indoors without enough daylight. Why would I want to do that but with even less light and more stuff trying to kill me?

I can’t tell if this is a joke comment or not. I don’t know what the letters stand for and as such it could be about almost anything.

For me “too much” was a long time ago. The price of graphics cards went insane at some point and it stopped being worth it. The last time I bought a graphics card new was in 2009 and that cost me, adjusted for inflation, £220 (Why do I still have the receipt…?). It was an nVidia GTX 260 and at the time was a fairly decent midrange card. Looking at graphics card pricing now, uh, nope, that wouldn’t buy me anything comparable - it looks like we’re talking ~£380 for midrange stuff, so a ~70% increase in price.

Whilst obviously the hardware is a lot more capable now than it was then, the amount of enjoyment I get out of gaming hasn’t gone up. If anything I enjoy gaming less now than I did then, although that’s more due to me getting older.

I’m constantly baffled as to how anyone can justify the cost of a decent gaming PC these days.

The PSP was both amazing and awful. So much squandered potential. So few developers did anything cool with it.
