It’s the dead eyes. I hope she lands on her feet from this, and then trips on something.
There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy. Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they’ve already enlisted in the cause. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.

It’s the dead eyes. I hope she lands on her feet from this, and then trips on something.
Not really sequels except from my perspective of playing them. I played Ultima III on the C-64 first - incredible game. Have the cloth map framed. Later I went to play I and II to explore where the lore came from. While the lore itself was interesting, they were far more simplistic and boring compared to what they led to. I guess that’s not fair, a sequel should try to raise the bar, and III did by a huge amount. But since I played them out of order, they felt like sequels to me that fell flat of what I had started off with.

This is the US at fault, but um, Greenland, what are you guys doing there? Anything? This isn’t wartime invasion, nor economic warfare, but something in between. Trespassing and theft if any regular person was doing it.

Haven’t there been videos showing either XP or 98 or both connected as fresh installs and within minutes having all sorts of issues?

Seems logical to show the stupidity, but it could also backfire. You know how once cops get called to a scene, they have to find something wrong or someone to arrest. And that could easily be you since you called them. When people in legit danger have called the police and ended up getting shot, I’d say nope, leave them out of it.

Were they bothering anyone else using that restroom? I doubt it. Maybe the ones who watch everyone coming and going into such facilities should be investigated. Mind your own business, everyone has to relieve themselves. People are ridiculous.

In that context you’d probably laugh if they used man too.

What’s New Pussycat 7 times, followed by It’s Not Unusual, then more of the first.

It’s not a both sides but more a larger scale comment on society as a whole. But fit it however you want to fit it. I could have gone into detail on how not everyone can control the damage they do. Some can absolutely make a large difference by their actions. But as for generations, which is what this thread is mostly about, we all have been a problem during the times when we could have done better. The ones with real power want the infighting among us because it’s a distraction, and again, it is our fault if we fall for that again and again.

That seems to be a male problem, and doesn’t even touch on all the other reasons those who would have voted for Harris (or any other blue) didn’t. But sure, let’s use a gender chart to make a generation point. Everything is correlated if you squint enough.

We’re all the problem, which is why generational blaming is just pointing fingers to make oneself feel less accountable.

That’s a pretty steep fine. Considering the captain will be the one to pay it, since the responsibility will shift to him. It certainly isn’t coming out of Zuckerberg’s pocket.

No, it was a GUI designed on top of MS-DOS specifically to import Minesweeper from IBM OS/2.

An LLM used for language purposes is the best application. It’s using that hammer to drive a nail. When they deviate from that role to other things, that’s when the effectiveness drops. When Co-pilot was pushed into our enterprise system incorporated into Outlook we played around with seeing what it could do with summarizing emails we would routinely send and get. It made them pretty, I give it that. But it didn’t handle the information well and was very inaccurate at time when it was missing data. The whole hallucination thing. So just verify what it produces for you before you hit send.

“We’re out of paperclips again. Co-pilot, please order more paperclips and make sure we don’t run out of them again.”
Co-pilot goes brrrrr…
Just kidding. Co-pilot is terrible.

That’s an improvement.

I agree on those points, and should have been more specific on who “they” are. The people who could have facilitated the choice to begin movement away from the city rather than reinforce more flooding protection and rebuilding where they knew eventually there would be more losses in greater amounts. Yes, people come back, don’t leave, or new people show up for the opportunities that the vacancies give. Just like in any disaster area. It’s not just Katrina officials, it’s the same in any places with hurricanes. New Orleans just has the added danger of sinking added to the list. The mistake was Katrina gave a unique window to maybe investigate a new reaction instead of just recovery. Maybe that’s simply too large a scale of people, infrastructure, and time for us to be able to do. New Orleans isn’t the only large city that will eventually move, either by choice, stages, or forced by disaster. Looking at you, Miami.
Are these additive or multiplicative? Exponential?
The issue is how accurate they can be. Even human police make the mistake of thinking they saw someone on a phone or not wearing a seatbelt, and I do not trust AI to do better. Speeding or reckless driving is a bit more obvious, and a crackdown on that would be helpful, as it’s not the law that reduces it, but the enforcement, and how often do we drivers see something on the road happen and think “sure wish a cop was around to see that”. For things like taillights or brake lights out, accuracy is the thing again, but rather than a ticket, a notice would be helpful. Just like a cop would do and give you a chance to fix it now that you know.
Not that I’m a fan of large scale surveillance. I think it can and is abused past the base purpose. But if it could be used only for the simplest enforcement of safety, that would be acceptable.
