Right. Team red managed to realign under a set of shared values. Those values are fucking awful, but they did it. No reason we can’t too, with hopefully better values - though it would be hard to do worse.

What’s the alternative? Voting for the next version of Trump directly? I’m all for changing our system, but as it stands the only real viable options are team Trump, and Team Mightnotdoenough. I am not thrilled with the latter either, but it seems less than ideal to let the perfect be the enemy of the less bad.

That feels like a bit of a goalpost shift. The comment I replied to was already comparing the sadism of Israelis and Nazis. To be clear, I wasn’t defending Israel, and I wasn’t even saying that what the Nazis did was worse. I specifically said I’m not sure. I didn’t take your initial point to imply certainty either. My point was just that the Nazis were hardly slouching in the sadism department themselves.
