This style of posting lends itself to having “hot takes” get upvoted and actual discussions have middling success.
At least with us, you can chose the tech and put it up yourself. Like right now you are using slrpnk.net and im using piefed.social on a lemmy.world server. Without any issues. We (the collective WE) made this happen without huge billionaires having a strangle hold on the way we interact. Its not perfect, but its better than a LOT of the alternatives.
The screenshot really should have a cat photo on it.
Looks great! GL!

Cant know until we try!

I wish meshtastic did any of that. Its more like a worse pager. Fun hobby to get into but its not all that great at reliable packets.

I have some friends that are thinking of investing into some HiLow systems and making our own intranet. Or a meshnet. Seems like a fun project.
And no random bot scans, no agencies, no nothing but our own sites.

I wonder if someone is trying out an AI or something and seeing the results. Then deleting. More evidence will pop up eventually.

It sticks around in other software just FYI. Maybe lemmy should have something that admins can do? Maybe something super admins can re-instate if a mod states should be un-deleted? I dunno.

I was in the medical insurance industry for a number of years. Its such a cold calculation. glad I am out. Also glad im in an area where all this is covered if God forbid I get it.
If one finds themselves in that situation: you can get life insurance and cash out if you get Cancer. “accelerated death benefit”

Its over 100F this week. Woo.

Ha! You have been to the central valley thats for sure.
Bakersfield is special sort of place.

We have west nile and many others. Its very bad. Theres a metric ton of them bugs here.
Source: i live here.

This reminds me of bitcoin so much. At first there was a rush for cpu then gpu then specific miners. Then specialty hardware. We are here now. So silly.

Ive seen this many MANY times. But I think people forget that most open source are passion projects.
You are owed nothing at all when someone publishes their code on the internet. Thats what it is, its just an instruction manual to do a thing. Unless you pay something for the privilege of support, complaints will do next to nothing. Even now on lemmy/piefed/fedi.

Oh yeah also piefed only has a couple of devs on the entire project. A lot of open source is like that actually (kinda like xkcd is calling out in your example). Its crazy how much software we use is made by a VERY small subset of people.

I was thinking of getting one. What made you decide to get a priority folder?
Im looking for one that I can take to work and back, and can easily fold up without too many long term repairs. Ive heard horror stories about fixing some old folding bikes but ive never had one.

CURL is kinda like that. Its in a better place now but hes still getting a bit burnt out .

Gardening.
I love plants but I dont have the time to micromanage. Ive set up automatic systems in the past, and found that the plants that want to live will live. And just propagate those to hell. I have loquat trees that love neglect. I have grapes that are WAY overgrown that need trimming each year and produce way too much. Ive tried other things but one hot 110F+ (43-44C) day and most plants die. And we get months of that kind of weather.
Kinda reminds me of creaper world.
