Did you find one?

Did you find one?

“I don’t have anything to hide” is such an insidious little lie. A colloquial fib we feel compelled to utter as a mock defense, like asserting innocence will assuage suspicion.
We all have something to hide. Probably many, many things to hide. Even just in the narrow context of the law, there are hundreds of thousands of laws that apply to any one of us at any given time, and you are almost certainly breaking some of them without even knowing it.
Personal security through privacy is so very, very important. I wish more people could see that.

You can’t pull one over on these kids. They have tons of free time and none of the responsibility of adulthood, they’re gonna bypass whatever the fuck you put in front of them.
I was that kid that refused to be constrained and I’m so fucking proud of this generation for carrying on the legacy.
Fuck, that gives me the ick big time.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Well, teenage me would have said the answer is “stupid”.
Then I grew up and realized that I was full of myself and everyone isn’t stupid.
Then the last 10 or so years happened and I now I sorta think teenage me was onto something there.

The New Colossus should be what we make kids memorize instead of the pledge of allegiance.

I don’t agree with passing off their behavior as “cultural”. I am ashamed of men because some of them are reprehensible, and some of them want to ignore how reprehensible those ones are or explain it away.
I choose to embrace feeling deeply ashamed at how we’ve allowed the worst of us to form the general opinion of us and vocalize that routinely.
Fuck their insecurities, if they want to be able to go up to a woman without “getting her drink splashed in their face” maybe they should focus harder on fixing the problem so women can generally feel safe with us.

I didn’t say that I was ashamed of myself, I said I was ashamed of men and the association they cast on me.
You’re kinda enabling that behavior by advocating against vocalizing how shitty it is.

It’s fun being deeply ashamed of your gender because some of us are filth and scum.
These fuckers harm everyone with their actions. Wish we could do something actionable about it.

If you’re going to move the goalpost can you at least move it past my “dickhead employers are a dime a dozen…” initial statement?

I’m an exempt employee. I wouldn’t trade back.
As with all things, needs are subjective. Sometimes I have to work at 2am because something breaks, and that sucks.
But not needing to worry about how many hours I’m going to be at my desk this week because any change might tank my paycheck is extremely valuable to me. I can take my kids to the doctor without missing pay, or to one of their school events, or take an afternoon off to do something fun, or just get the flu and be out for two weeks without worrying about the mortgage.
Sorry you have had shit experiences, but the world doesn’t exist only at the polar extremes.

Not everyone lives where you do and labor laws are complex and varied. Which is why I didn’t go into specifics.
Have fun with that pedantry though.

The “correct” word for salary is usually “exempt employee”, as in exempt for overtime pay.
This isn’t always a bad thing. Some jobs need exempt employees because they run on call rotations and so forth, and if your employer isn’t a dickhead it can genuinely be done fairly with highly flexible hours and pay to match.
Of course, dickhead employers are a dime a dozen…

Also a big dude, also never have to worry about this shit.
Fucking stupid that women get treated so poorly, and so routinely.

Tweeting is not action.

Ok NRA, so they’re saying we don’t have 2nd amendment rights anymore. You’re gonna pull all that right wing funding now, right?
Right?

Executing a man on his knees is totally justified bro.
Fucking DHS lies about this are infuriating.

What a shameful time to be American.
Free market totally regulating itself like we’ve always been told.
