If he managed to open the emergency door and jump out within that time span, that is some very very quick timing and reflexes.

You’ll also see a link labeled as Legal, which contains most of the instance’s policies. The Instances link will show you what instances they are federated and defederated with. The modlog can also give you some insight on what’s happening on the instance. Combine that with all the other information on their sidebars and you’ll get a rough idea of how different they are managed.

It also helps if you’ve been on lemmy for a while because you would’ve directly experienced or witnessed any issues or controversies those instances have been involved with.

Just got past 1 year ownership of a new build and had the 1-year warranty inspection done and worked with the builder to do the repairs. As someone who took the plunge and moved halfway across the world, this comment really resonates with me and I understand your perspective. But hey, maybe Dubai can be a stepping stone instead of a final destination. Once you establish yourself there and (hopefully) earn enough (that you otherwise won’t be able to do in your home country), you can probably try to explore moving to a third country if the dream doesn’t go away.
