Honestly, with USAs track record over the past century, it’s probably well deserved for it to crash and burn. I’m just worried about the flaming fallout that will crush everyone else underneath, and what new monster will step in to take its place.
The US hegemony needed to die, I say as a really angry, scared, and sad citizen, but this is not the best way for humanity for it to happen imo. So many people are going to suffer than needed to.
It was never not going to happen violently and suddenly. Our world is much too complex and interconnected at this point for a major moving part to fail slowly. It’s actually kind of insane that the machine has been running even this well for this long.
