These fish are highly aggressive, invasive and eat other native fish eggs. Encouraged to kill after catching. I dropped my line in a spot and got a bite within 10 seconds. Simple drop shot right, size 8 hook. Chunk of Bar-S Classic Franks as bait, carefully covered hook tip to ensure it didn’t get caught on reeds. Happy to answer any questions.

Side note:
Those guys are edible and actually tasty. I usually either deep-fry them whole (panko crust is optional) or cook them and mush them into fish patties. In my eyes its always best to not let go to waste what you kill.

I’ve read that they can accumulate certain toxins like PCB, particularly in Lake Michigan, so I’m not going to be eating any. I think my plan is to catch, kill, and toss them out.
