This is told as being the truth, but the actual source for this framing is Iran, and the news site that is reporting this is controlled by China. Possibly propaganda by exaggeration.

Take a deep breath and think. Don’t just 100% believe everything they say.

As opposed to the American propaganda by straight up lying.

The propaganda that you recognize as propaganda is probably not targetted at you. The propaganda that makes you go “those fucking assholes” is the one that’s probably targetted at you.

If it happened 2 years ago I would have agreed with you and dismissed any statement from Iran as propaganda, but now…

Do you think the iranian government has become more credible because they’re in state of active war? Why would that happen?

US government has of course taken a nose dive in terms of honesty, no argument from me there.

Seems to me that the guy is incapable of telling the truth, but who knows, perhaps that one is an exception.

No more or less credible than they’ve always been. Why should they lie about this? The US has spy satellites in orbit. If the water infrastructure was fine, it’d be a very easy thing to prove. And, as others have pointed out, this very thing has been talked about by the US leadership.
