  • It squares away in the UCMJ. Generic ‘You’ used throughout, below this point:

You are supposed to have the balls/constitution/wherewithal/spine to disobey an order you believe or know to be illegal, despite the harsh automatic penalties that will presume you guilty until innocent for doing so, as you accept those possible consequences as readily as you accept taking an artillery shell for your country.

You are to hold this inhuman (as in, literally against psychological norm) stance deeper than the other stances programmed (with full use of psychological norms) into you in the course of being shaped for military services during training.

Because you are a warrior and are expected to hold yourself to standards far above and beyond those of the common population that you are (on paper, says every military of everywhere really) sacrificing your service for, so they don’t have to.

    Does it work?

Eh. Maybe if a standing military was full of the mythical Warrior Poets envisioned by the glories in the marching songs.

They pretty much universally never are, and usually never were except for brief periods fostered by singular individuals as driving forces.

    And thus, here we are.

Given what Kegsbreath has been doing to reshape the US military under his toddler level understanding of what a “warrior” is, I wouldn’t expect much of the requisite spine to still be enlisted for service for long.

They exist still, and hopefully the ones that are already out, the ones still in, and their neighbors are doing some common sense mathematics, but that is simply not something that can be expected and accounted for, and historically when things get to that point, it’s a bad time for everyone regardless.

  • She is 100% a foreign asset, heavily influencing the hegemon (can’t claim control over dementia though, and that’s all the schadenfreude we truly get).

Enabled by the simple act of being (insultingly) obviously molded for the role.

Which is leading the figurehead by the “little mushroom”, via superlatively praise ridden word and action.

And you know damn well that the coming of age thing means they roleplay some morally questionable shit during the theater rendition of the Aristocrats.

That’s why you included it on your list, so now you gotta think about it again for making me picture it.

You know how a narcissist parent expects their kids to thank them for everything, even them accomplishing basic milestones of growing up?

    Yeah 🤢.

  • Note: Source has a “soft” subscription wall (non-scripted element), FF reader mode enough to bypass.

It’s full of practical and common sense suggestions, for navigating the current legalities of the system and how to attempt to receive accountability, in the events described in the headline.

That is all I will say about it, directly. I will never personally use it.

As the one in my family most likely to be the initial target in the hypothetical scenario, I hadn’t considered my stance and position on the subject, should it not be me who is murdered by the…fuck, I don’t have energy for euphemisms anymore.

Personally, if I’m caught within that situation, new articles will have to be written about the events proceeeding, regardless of the actual outcomes.

Preservation letters? Family Captain? Canvass the neighborhood for un-tampered with evidence?

Yes, those are indeed tools, but I wouldn’t be using them as proscribed in that article.

  • Edgarianny and Freddys said that they followed the proper instructions and were told they were approved for self-deportation by the government. “On July 6, we went to our ICE check-in appointment as instructed,” the letter said. “We believed we were going there to finalize our travel home. Instead, after we signed all the forms waiving all our rights, we were arrested. “We were immediately taken into custody and transferred to Dilley. Since then, we have done everything we can to make clear that we want to return home. We withdrew our immigration appeal, waived our rights, and asked to return voluntarily. We were even told that we had been placed on a list for a flight home. Then we were taken off the list.”

I used to think the right choice for “justice” for the…perpetrators behind this, was an expeditious trial. With an equally expeditious carrying out of sentencing.

    I think I was wrong.

If and when, if and when. Care should be taken to ensure they all get promises of leniency, good treatment, and safety. That the signing of their plea deals will make their life uncertain, but otherwise okay, just be patient. Then a good and torturous shuffling through the same facilities they used and then without warning, the wall out back.

    Yeah.

  • Being utterly unfamiliar with this case up until my rushed reading of 10 mins ago, and operating under the assumption that everything you’ve said is 100% factual reporting:

    Holy. Fucking. Shit.

What!? That isn’t smoke pointing to a fire, it’s a goddamn molten slag cast in the shape of a man gleefully setting fire to a previous life as he dances over to a new fire pit.

That shit is too on the nose that I fully expect the true crime drama episode in 10 years about husband’s exploits to come with a warning about the gullibility of the system and technology.

Just enough digital trail to “absolve” him, conveniently, but only if you pick and choose where and when to accept the trail is on his side?

This is absolutely looking like the classic “sociopathic piece of skin husband has idealized mental picture of life shattered by difficult reality and decides to dispense with his ‘property’ before moving on” murder pattern.

  • I think I saw those same comments. I almost went to check my water lines for LSD for a minute after reading. Smug posting doesn’t even begin to cover it, it was so fucking surreal. Even direct links to verified and declassified facts both were like shit on a pig on that one. I didn’t think there was something to make me prefer the average person’s total blissful ignorance on the topic but that person’s creepy smug whitewashed reality shit was some next level wtf.

  • That wouldn’t detonate a claymore.

The more I look at the image, the more terrifyingly genius it becomes.

The laser tripwires in video games are a visual stand-in for good ol’ boring metal tripwires which a claymore can actually use. The tripwire moving around it’s housing changes the circuit state inside the electric blasting cap and off comes the wall of deadly balls.

But you don’t need to tripwire. You can remote detonate.

Or for the purposes of the meme, Alexa can time when to detonate. Just needs a little camera to see when and wire leads into the claymore’s blasting cap to deliver the electric triggering…

    This isn’t a meme. It’s theory…

Does anyone know an old appliance salesman who used to sell other things back in old country? Asking for a friend.

  • Mate, I hear ya. Everything you said has many kernels of truth in it, but it doesn’t invalidate what the commenter you’re replying to, is trying to tell you.

There will not be enough workers to support us in old age.

This is precisely, why it’s important to badger and force representatives into the exact same discussion about changes to the bill, as the OOP’s shared article touches upon.

You first raise the cap, so the millionaires who are temporarily embarrassed billionaires pay their fair share, and once those loud mother fuckers get used to it, they’re now on your side to keep pushing it up until it hits the owner class.

Productivity gains ain’t decreasing, and the automation that the labor class toiled to make a reality for these fuckheads, shouldn’t have all of its production gain remain as profit for the owners

  • Absolutely true. Also just like, fundamentally bullshit, and perfectly reasonable to consider expansion of the cap.

Those currently over the cap reap outsized benefits borne from the labor of those who don’t make the cap. That’s how they fucking made it, above the cap.

There is no moral turpitude in taxing them to fund a social net they won’t directly use, because they’ve been indirectly benefitting from it all along.

The piddling argument I can already hear you making, gets even more ridiculous when you scale past the professionally licensed professions and get into pure capitalists.

This is a compromise being offered, in lieu of the buffet table, and of course they’re gonna be too fucking stupid to accept it because the morons forgot the bread part and all they got left is their shitty circus.
