Not really, it’s still encrypted. If you’re not a political dissident and just using Signal to chat with friends then it is helpful to make yourself available to said friends.

12·2 days agoI have notifications on when someone joins and maybe 75% of the time after I see the notification their account is “deleted” because they changed the privacy settings.
It’s not the end of the world but I do wish more people wouldn’t automatically pick the maximum privacy setting so that we could actually, yknow use it

2·3 days agoHonestly the entire notion of caring about “ratings” at all is stupid unless you are trying to sell ads. Reviews are great and reviewing art is an art form of it’s own. But taking a bunch of reviews and smoothing them together and averaging them out in order to pretend you’ve reached some sort of objective truth about how “good” a piece of media is is a stupid thing to care about and will only bring you sorrow and a more shallow life.

A few years later, when we did Star Trek: Enterprise, the producers wanted a more NASA-like vibe, so I did quite a few emblems for Bob Blackman, our costume designer. Wendy Drapanas, Geoff Mandel, and Alan Kobayashi also contributed some patches.
This listicle says it was Wendy Drapanas but there’s no further explanation.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Anyone know a good Selfhosted yt-dlp manager?English
2·18 days agoWhen I tried it I got the feeling it’s more for people looking to backup/archive entire YouTube channels than those (such as myself) basically just having what is functionally an RSS feed of most recent videos released this week (for example).
But like I said, it’s absolutely great at what it does I just found it waaaay too complicated than the simple “use jellyfin as a YouTube app replacement” I was looking for.

1·18 days agotubearchivist is great but probably overkill for someone just looking to subscribe and watch with Plex/Jellyfin instead of the YouTube app.

Star Trek Social Club@startrek.website•What do you think of Ro's decision?English
2·18 days agoI agree, but the particular Maquis we saw tended to be reactionary and narrow minded. I think it could have been presented as a much better grey area situation like in Journey’s End.

Star Trek Social Club@startrek.website•What do you think of Ro's decision?English
1·21 days agoI always felt like they did a pretty poor job of making the audience feel any significant level of sympathy for the Maquis (assuming that was the goal).

If you’re using Frigate with docker you could route the container through a gluetun container.
