help-circle

  • A bunch i really liked were:

    • Hades (and Hades 2) (action roguelike)
    • Dead Cells (side scroller roguelike)
    • Celeste (Precision Platformer)
    • HexCells (puzzle game)
    • Shadow Tactics: Blade of the Shogun (Stealth Strategy, the other games by the same dev are great too)
    • Prey (well, maybe its not an indie, but its great)
    • Vampire Survivors (Bullet Heaven, great to zone out too, lots of things to collect)
    • BugSnax (Not sure if Indie, but a lot more fun than it looks)
    • Cave Story (Side Scroller)
    • Creeper World 4 (Strategy game, I think 4 is the most recent. No need to play older ones unless you want more of the same)
    • Earth Defence force 6 (janky, but fun multiplayer with friends)
    • Heros Hour (strategy)
    • Oxygen Not Included (colony builder)
    • Rim World (colony builder)
    • Satisfactory (Automation game)
    • Pit People (strategy game)
    • Supraland (puzzle game, sequel is fun too)
    • The Talos Principle (Puzzle game, I think its indie?)
    • Undertale (RPG, its fantastic)
    • You must build a boat (Match 3)

  • Weirdly enough, it did work that time, but froze the game when I tried to exit. I tried another time and it didn’t run the game and gave some errors like:

    [___](ERROR: ld.so: object '/REDACTED/.steam/debian-installation/ubuntu12_32/gameoverlayrenderer.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32): ignored.
    )

    and

    Initializing steam
    Setting breakpad minidump AppID = 462770
    free(): invalid pointer

    and then a long stacktrace. No idea what it means.

  • Great, glad to hear that Mint will be okay. I don’t mind the slower kernel/driver updates. :)

    2 quick followup questions:

    1. Should I set my filesystems to something other than ext4? I know some games in windows I feel like would benefit from a faster filesystem, but I don’t know a whole lot about it.
    2. If I upgrade my videocard (I’m using a NVidia GTX something something), would it be better to go for an AMD card? Do they have better linux driver support?
