Doesn’t a black hole stretch time in a really weird manner? That would mean that no sensible answer can be given to the question. It could easily be that it takes either one billionth of a second or a trillion years, depending on where you are standing when observing the occurrence.

So, you’d promise that whoever brings you a sum of money, gets a lump of uranium? The more money brought, the bigger the lump? That would be kind of cool!

If a WW was to break tomorrow, it would probably be because of Trump making true his threats to attack NATO in order gain definite control over Greenland?

Probably USA would be its own side without allies?
Then there would probably be NATO as one side, most likely with Australia and Japan on the same team as NATO. And, I’d say, probably all of Southern and Central America.
And the Russia and Iran with China? Pakistan would probably be on their side, so India would seek something else. More likely NATO than USA?

But then again, WWIII would be such a big deal that it feels weird imagining it might end up a three-sided war. The loosest piece on this board is USA… If it allies with one of the sides, will that side be that of NATO or that of the Russia?

Hm. Well, if it allies with China and the Russia, it gets super difficult for NATO to keep shit together. Then again, the Canadian border is not all that far away from DC, and Latvia is not far away from Moscow. We’d probably also have Ukraine on our side, and they can teach a lot about modern warfare!

All in all: If USA manages to ally with someone, that side is likely to win. If it remains alone, it will probably lose. I would say that in a situation where USA doesn’t ally with anyone, NATO would be the side losing the least.

But, in the end nobody wins in a war.

I think Finland would have said bye bye to him for that. USA could then have sent someone else to replace him.
Iceland cannot, because it doesn’t have an army of its own.

The roads and buildings suggest that it’s mostly built on land and only somewhat reaches over the water.

Cheeks are a part of the human body where the different pheromones are easiest to record. They telll information about the immune system, and hold the “personal smell” that everyone has (and which isn’t really a smell at all, because pheromones are observed with a different system than actual smells are). When you get your nose near someone’s cheek, you record a lot of personal data about them in your subconscious.

You receive information about how healthy your children would be likely to be, and also your subconscious gets irrefutable proof of “I am currently very close with person ______.”

Plus the other reasons mentioned here. But the most important one is that it’s a way to get your nose near their cheek.

A Fecesbook refugee :)

(Okay, there’s one group that is too valuable for me. And another one where people really need help with trying to save the world and I write answers beginning with "yeah, this will work, but there are caveats. Relevant is only whether the judge listens to those right-wingers or uses their own eyes.

They have enough evidence in the videos. Can’t the court just get it on with that evidence alone? It’s not as if there was anything terribly unclear about the case.

If there is one policemen arresting an ICE officer, the ICE officer is not allowed to resist the arrest. If there is one policemen arresting an ICE officer, surrounded by 20 ICE officers, none of the 20 ICE officers are allowed to resist the arrest.

And if they nevertheless do, that gets very interesting in court. Resisting an arrest is not a terribly good idea.

Yeah, I am currently using a PieFed instance that is behind Cloudfare, because my regular instance has problems. But I have preferred instances not behind Cloudfare.

AWS, it’s not really legal for any public institutions in EU to use AWS. Many do anyway, though. So yeah, some stuff might break in the society. But not that many things I use personally. Hopefully they have backups of their code on their own servers as well, so that if AWS ever disappears, they can quickly run the same code on some sensible platform. Wonder where their databases are physically located, though :D

Funny, but for me very little would change. The only one of those I use even occasionally is YT, and the videos would start appearing elsewhere. Peertube, maybe?

EDIT: Oh, I’d lose my steam library. That would be a nuisance!
