Do you know how wasteful? Is there like an actual overhead when running obs, or is it more like Nvidia shadow play or steams recording? Are you actually recording when you have that active or is it just actually creating a virtual screen?

Anyone know how I can get remote access with my monitors off while using Wayland ? Everytime I log in if I have my monitors off I just get a black screen. I bought one of those dummy HDMI plugs no dice. Works fine with x11 but I don’t want to have to relog every time I get to my computer.
Xbox will still exist as a platform, just not the console. It’ll probably just be stuff like the Xbox ally x; Xbox partners with brands to sell hardware with cut down versions of windows that has access to 3rd party markets like steam and such, but a major emphasis on the Xbox/windows store.
Either way, I don’t think there has to be a third platform if Xbox went away. PC looked kinda shaky there for a moment in the '00s/'10s, but at this point it seems pretty well poised to become the dominant platform. Xbox and PlayStation already port games to steam and even GoG. Nintendo is the harder nut to crack, I’m not sure what’d it take for them to get out of the hardware business. I read somewhere they have enough cash on hand to operate at a loss for like a decade or something.
Penny Arcade Expo is one of the biggest gaming conventions in America (and Aus) so I’d say yeah. I think they still make the comic too.
I concur on retrodeck, just a way better experience than emudeck. I like just knowing when I feel like emulating I click retrodeck and boom, it’s all there. Way more cohesive.
I always use isthereanydeal before buying anything, and that’ll list gog on there was well. Good practice for getting a deal and buying drm free
The article disagrees, but idk what staffing numbers are right
Probably because this post was submitted 9 hours before.
A lot of my friends just won’t play “old” games. If the graphics don’t look somewhat modern, they physically cannot bring themselves to touch it. I showed my girlfriend system shock 2 and she audibly laughed at me wondering how I could stand it. Another friend refunded vampire the masquerade because he could not get over how old the game looks.
So yeah I think unfortunately they’re a necessary evil for people to get in touch with some of these older classics.
Fuck the sun
