  • Not much of a PC gamer, but I have had a need to use a mouse without a desk. I swear by trackball mice. Personally I’ve been happy with the wireless Logitech trackball offerings, particularly the one with Bluetooth and a dongle you can tuck away into the mouse. Even at a regular desk, doing CAD work all day, it has saved my shoulder and wrist from stress and pain. I can basically sit in a relaxed neutral position and use my mouse wherever my hand falls, like on an arm rest. It may take some adjustment learning to use your thumb to navigate around, but for me it has been worth it.

  • It keeps on autocorrecting words to some totally irrelevant wrong word, much more often than it used to. Previously it would just fix the occasional spelling mistake and ignore most capitalized words. Now it regularly changes proper names to other random words, replaces it’s with its or your for you’re (or the other way round) but it’s almost always wrong even though I typed it correctly. I’ll go back and try to fix it, only to find it’s chosen some other random words to use instead of what I actually typed. It replaces correct words with incorrect words now way more often than it actually helps my spelling.

  • As batman movies go they’re pretty boring. It’s a dark and gritty hero, fighting dark and gritty villains, in a boring gritty city, with boring citizens. Their not bad movies. They were clearly made by clever talented people, good at what they do. But the result lacks any real contrast, just black on black on black on black. I’ll rewatch any other batman movie at the drop of a hat, no questions asked. I know I’ll be entertained. But I’m totally uninterested in rewatching the Nolan Batman movies.

  • Everybody is just trying to look cool. Everybody probably looks like a “poser” to someone else. And in a cruel twist of irony, the inventors and early adopters of some “cool” new thing, look derivative and boring years AFTER everyone else has done it. Kids don’t have a long memory for these kinds of things; they grew up in a world where it was already old news and boring, never having experienced a world without it. This shift in perception can happen sometimes even among people old enough to have been there at the beginning. So yeah, they are just a bunch of posers trying to look cool, but aren’t we all?

  • I wish I could stay asleep for 8 consecutive hours, or even go back to sleep after waking up at hour 6 without feeling like shit the rest of the day. Some of my most restorative sleeping has been 4 hours or a 30 minute nap. Sleeping more than 30 minutes and less than 4? Straight to sleepy jail. More than 4 hours, but a little less than six? Sleepy jail. More than 8 hours? Probably dead, definitely at least sleepy jail where nothing productive happens.
