So 89 troops per state? TF are they going to do? Respond to calls slower than cops? Stand near a peaceful protest? Guard a federal building? Learn to be detectives and work cold cases with their brigade while documenting their progress by producing a biweekly true crime podcast?
National Guard, by and large, does not want to be doing this.

That doesn’t really paint a clear picture. Department of Public Safety is doing the detaining and “Republicans” is fairly nebulous. What law gives the Department of Public Safety the right to force Texas state representatives to accept a police escort? What about detaining them in the congressional building? Who said she could sleep in her office? On who’s authority?
The article does not mention what entity or law is compelling them to stay? Are we really at “might makes right” in the Texas Senate?
Being in jail actually makes it harder to return work.

Would I support him in a primary for President in 2028? Probably not. I sure hope someone better shows up.
Would I support him if he won the Democratic primary? Yes. Assuming we get elections. Assuming the DNC hasn’t fully fractured and a third party candidate cannot reasonably win.
