We’re not talking about spirituality. I’m spiritual. We’re talking about organized religion, that has an awfully genocidal and hateful track record, with one halfway decent prophet who said some nice things, and also some completely incoherent things about being one with the hateful God of this religion.

I live in Asia. I’m European and meet a lot of Chinese tourists. Trying to find a common ground with digital services we both use is impractical to the point where we often can’t connect online.

No, we’re describing a religion and what its followers behave like. Atheism isn’t a religion or a group. It’s a choice to refrain from belief in a god. Christianity has churches, pastors, and now presidents who lead their followers into morally reprehensible behavior. One is rotten fruit, the other is rejecting rotten fruit. It’s not the same.

Yeah, that’s why I said the religion is rotten. If I say an apple is rotten, people don’t usually respond by saying “Yeah but it came from a cool tree”.
