My username is a wordplay on the Linux command filesystem check: fsck.
It can be proven, very easily. All it takes is a little bit of IT skills and a basic understanding of networking. There are also immense amounts of incentive to prove it. Your information would be spread across every news network, and you’d be able to use it to sue any business that does it.
So, the only reason it can’t be proven is because it’s not happening.

This might be the worst quality image I’ve ever seen posted to this community. It took literally seconds to find the original. I would much rather have fewer posts on Lemmy if it means not having awful quality images like this.

As far as I can tell, that’s what they said they wanted. I thought maybe they have an interesting use or reason to remove only the screen. I could be a useful idea.
Well, they said they wanted the steam deck without the screen. So, that leaves the whole rest of the device, just without the ability to see anything.
What would be the point of having the processor in the controller, then?

The detection happens with the update download, which does not have any bundled software. It also detects the installer that specifically does not have the option for installing bundled software.
Weird how that doesn’t happen for other FTP or file transfer apps.

Data breaches are already commonplace, though. People don’t really care about that, so news outlets don’t care to cover it.
This is vastly different and would be a new thing that everyone would be interested in hearing about. So many people think that this is happening, but have no proof. They would love to be able to say “See! There’s finally proof! I told everyone!”
