No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do I properly and safely clean smartphone?
21·9 hours agoAny brand can do that. You need to use a dedicated electronics air blower. You can get them on Amazon for under $50

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do I properly and safely clean smartphone?
191·9 hours agoDo NOT use soap and water on ports. Isopropyl alcohol is probably the only safe option

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do you think a socialist President would win the 2028 election? Would they use the exact methods used by Zohran Mamdani which earned him the office of Mayor of NYC?
42·1 day agoHow do I think it would happen? Someone is dressed as a moderate, then after the primary they have a huge press conference. They rip their skin off and reveal they are actually a completely different person.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If I publish my memoir and wrote about every bad thing people did to hurt me while the people mentioned are still alive, how much trouble could I get in?
71·2 days agoAnyone could sue you. Do you have money to pay for a lawyer?
Also, a publishing firm would know the series risks with this

272·3 days agoYou cannot just renovate buildings like that. I mean if one person could just decide to renovate a building, the president could just knock down part of the White House!!! /s

News@lemmy.world•Philadelphia County (Pa.) Sheriff issues warning to ICE after Minneapolis shooting: ‘You don’t want this smoke’
33·5 days agoThat’s cool and all but can we have a sheriff that does their job and isn’t a terrible human being? That probably
trumpsbeats hot quotes. It’s a shame Krasner has to appear next to her. He runs a great office, while she is a stain on this city.
Edit: before anyone assumes anything, Krasner literally defined the “progressive prosecutor” archetype during a wave a criminal justice reform a decade ago. Bilal might hate Trump but that’s probably the only thing that aligns her with the left

News@lemmy.world•Philadelphia County (Pa.) Sheriff issues warning to ICE after Minneapolis shooting: ‘You don’t want this smoke’
42·5 days agoIt’s not just the cop thing. Bilal is the most shameless and corrupt politician currently in the Philadelphia system. Everything she does is wrong. She had a decent primary challenger in the last election but she won on name recognition in a low interest election.
Her fuckery LONG predated ICE raids in and around the city.
If I have valuable info and I want to share it in a controlled way, I can use an API. If i am an airline, I could spit out a feed that tells you a list of flights and how delayed they are. If im Reddit, I can share posts, comments, etc.
Anyone (in the case of a free API) can take the data the API spits out and make their own app with it. But if you charge for API access, then someone would have to pay to make an app with your information.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What cheap-ish bulk items would you buy for yourself and your home before an economic depression?
41·5 days agoNothing. Space is a value. Even worst case scenario, put all your money in a savings account and you get at least 1% in a HYS during shitty times. That’s better than shelling out all your money now for items that will probably cost the same in a few years

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Are cars allowed to not have a front license plate? What does it mean?
301·5 days agoIn the US, this depends on your state. Mine does not have front plates, most of the states near me do not, but one does
Edit: a quick and likely inaccurate google search told me it’s 29 states that have front plates and 21 that don’t. To be clear, if you live in one of those 21 states, you can drive in any state. That doesn’t break any laws

291·6 days agoIt’s also sadly possible that after 90 years, they were unaware of that option. It’s relatively new in their lifespan.
On a serious note wtf age is Clint Eastwood in this photo? 40? 70?

81·6 days agoProbably the same place as any other reference the government ever made to J6… a trash can with our only evidence being something like archive.org
But… what’s the fourth? Personally, I’d pay a premium for 3. Don’t jizz in my cake

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Tried to get back into contact with an old friend who saved me back in the day. I messaged him, he never read my message, and on New Year's day, his account was gone. What could've happened?
181·7 days agoWhat could’ve happened?
Anything. Could he be dead? Unlikely, but anything is possible.
Did he win the lottery and go into hiding to avoid people begging for money? Even less likely but also possible.
Anything in between? More likely and also possible.
This but “freezer” and “frozen vegetables I bought before the pandemic”

Okay. This isn’t about disinfecting. This is about electronics safety. The higher the better
