I agree, yes. I always try to have that conversation, even if the other side seems to be arguing, since at the beginning I am interested in their thoughts and motives, and trying to get them to understand mine. I do enjoy getting people angry though, so at certain point, if they are clearly arguing in bad faith, the calmness becomes a tool, to make them look like morons.

  • It sometimes gets even weirder, though. I am no expert in anime, but many of the “loli” characters I have encountered, have adult woman hips, but a child’s face, and sometimes also upper body. Something like Tatsumaki in One Punch man for example. So it is sexualizing the child-ish look, while also making it more adult like…? I have not understood what is the point.

  • Windows “just works”

Honestly, I cannot understand, who can tolerate Windows 11. It does not even work! Constant bugs, eats memory like a hog, have to uninstall programs when updates itself (so constantly), because automatic re-installs. Every time you reboot, you have to kill several unnecessary background processes it automatically starts, or everything works even more like in tar. On my Surface Pro (Microslop made! Their own product!) the task bar never worked properly, every time there was an update to fix something, something else stopped working. Even the damn desktop broke few times, with random updates. It is a vibe coded piece of garbage.

I have everything I cannot switch to Linux, on Windows 10 - at least that still works. Windows 11 cannot even fill that bare minimum.

  • Also, as a personal anecdote: I have seen multiple pittie-type of dogs in dog parks, that are fine at first, but then after running and playing for a while, start to get agitated, which then triggers aggressive behavior towards the other dogs. The common theme with the incidents I have seen, is the owners not understanding their dog’s bodylanguage, and not realizing when they are starting to get agitated, and should have stopped and left.

I am autistic person, grown up with dogs, so often I can read dog bodylanguage better than human one. I have taken my dog, and left from dog parks, when I have noticed the agitation rising in that type of dogs, because I do not trust the owners. These days it is honestly just safer to not go in there, if there is a pittie-types, even if they seem to be fine.
I sadly find it is also pointless to try to point this behaviour out to the owners, as they get offended for implying their dog is aggressive, even though that is not the point. And then they get couple bad incidents, and quietly stop visiting dog parks.

Do not take a dog from a breed, that has high tendency towards dog aggression, if you want a high chance to have a dog, you can take to dog parks.

  • Pitbulls also have strong tendecy for aggression towards other dogs, because of the background of the breed. Not all of them have dog aggression, especially the mixed, but many do. As an instinct, it is often way too difficult to all but experts, to train them not to act on it, and many people can barely do basic training, much less realize, what sort of precautions they need to take, to prevent incidents.

This also means keeping them in places, with a lot of other dogs around - so almost every situation people live in these days - creates a big chance of them attacking other dogs. And when dogs fight, it is very common for humans to get injured, while they try to stop it, because the dogs are in a very agitated state. Since pitties are a strong breed with strong jaws, getting bit by one means usually a really bad time, even if it just an accident… which then leads to blaming the dog for their owner’s stupidity, as noted above.

  • It is very obvious when these cameras are pointed at you

Do you honestly believe, that all the people you have met in person, would be able to tell the difference between a glasshole with their VR glasses, and a random blind person wearing sunglasses? Sure, in this discussion it is a hyperbole, but people manage to cause these stupid mob mentality things every now and then. Like reddit, and misidentifying the Boston bomber. Or all the canceling, harassing and doxxing, that has ended up targeting someone innocent. Just the other day, I saw some post about a documentary or something, about how pedo hunters managed to murder some completely unrelated person.

Real life is not a movie, people get permanently disabled and even die from a single punch, even in stupid, drunken bar fights all the time. If a random person reads that comment about punching, and decides it is actually a good idea - do you think that one, is definitely one of those, who will be able to actually recognize the VR glasses? Inciting violence online, and managing to cause even a single moron, to assault and possibly kill innocent people, makes you responsible for that as well. If you think that is okay, you should think about your values, and what sort of a person you really want to be.

I do hope you can find some healthier outlet for your anger, than insulting randoms, and writing violent fantasies online.

  • Did you not read my, or the other posters, comments? You are missing the point we both made. Let me try again.

There are a lot of stupid people. Trying to get a lot of people to punch glassholes, will lead those stupid people to also punch people with VR glasses. Which then leads to stupid people actually punching people with glasses. But because they are stupid, they cannot tell which ones are wearing VR glasses, or that someone wearing VR glasses might have them as an accessibility device, and not as pervert glasses. So they will punch people who have glasses, that to them, look like VR glasses, but are not.
A lot of blind people wear sunglasses, that can look like VR glasses, in places people do not usually wear sunglasses. This means, getting a lot of stupid people, to punch people with glasses, will lead to a lot of innocent people - especially blind ones - not releated to glassholes in anyway, getting targeted and punched, just for existing in a public place. A lot of people punching random people indiscriminately for wearing glasses, because they hate glassholes, is an angry mob. Thus, that plan leads to an angry mob, punching a lot of innocent people.

  • I agree. Punching glassholes sounds good in theory, but a lot of people are extremely stupid. Encouraging to do that, will practically lead to multiple blind people getting punched in the face, even if they are not even wearing VR glasses. I would rather have the pervert glasses wearing idiots walk around, than blind people having to not use their accessibility devices, or having to just stay away from public places in fear of being assaulted.

There has to be some better solution, be it just asking enthusiasticly “hey are those VR glasses? where did you get them?” or “excuse me, are you blind?”, before punching, or some better legislation, or something. Something that does not lead to morons punching blind people regularly.

  • Luckily I know at least some philosophical basics, so I do think I understand your talking points. (And essentially Descartes’ cogito ergo sum, lead me on this extreme path of epistemological masochism.)

Infinity is actually a very good example I think, that shows us we are perceiving something weirdly. There exist no measurable, conrete infinity in the physical universe, as far as we know; even the space itself has its limits. Yet we understand the concept of infinity, so it exists in some form, in the reality we are perceiving. But then, we can have infinities that are bigger and smaller than each other… the way we are perceiving this is quite paradoxal! Or, at least it appears to us as such.

And be love now, really is a wonderful line of thinking. I fully agree, that it really does not matter, what is the Real Truth or if it exists at all, since all we have is ourselves, right now. If we all focused more on loving and less on all the bad shit, our human realities would definitely improve in multiple ways… but we are flawed beings, so sometimes we can only try… the path towards Good is a difficult one, that I also often struggle with.

  • Oh yes, I cannot claim I am in any way an expert on antinatalism, nor do I follow their ideology (I mean, I cannot have children, so I guess I technically do…?). I just take their side against efilism, as the latter can be extremely harmless, and I would rather have the still life-respecting antinatalists dominate the discussions about the subjects in question, than let edgy anti-lifers, to gain more visibility and support.

I also appreciate your views, it is an interesting perspective to hear. Would you classify it as panpsycism, or does that focus too much on the consciousness part, in comparison?
I lean more towards just the weird metaphysical ideas, and coil that way to that another side of nihilistic views, where I just do not trust human perception of reality. Everything that exists to us, might be completely flawed, and what we perceive as absolute truths or assign as existing things and concepts (like math, or the concept of a mindl), might not be anything else than our delusions - we are unable to know, anyway. This of course leads to all the problems of impossibility of real knowledge and all that, but as we cannot exist outside our own perceived realities - be it separate beings, or all just one - we are just forced to live in that uncertainty. Everything that exists might be just physical things, our thoughts nothing but electric impulses, and we are just having the perception of them being something else… or maybe that is just delusion as well, too, and we just cannot comprehend what form of existence the reality is, as to us it, is how it is. This way nothing really matters, or more like mattering itself is just a human concept - yet everything inside human perspection still matters, to us.
