Grok wouldn’t fuck up the spelling so badly
I don’t know if it can (or should) be done without the negative aspects. The internet is really dangerous.
Children can be introduced to baking in a playful way, but still need to be taught how to do it safely. You wouldn’t try to do it without mentioning that the oven is hot, or that they shouldn’t play with knives.
Makes sense that it’s paywalled, how else would they pay for such good journalists and editors? 👍
The media seems so confused, when it’s so simple. People are being disappeared.
One of the cases – was it Mahmoud Khalil? – where they took issue with someone wearing a hoodie and disappeared them, I saw news sites saying, “This just isn’t how we do things in this country! He deserves due process and a fair trial!”
So… you think putting someone on trial for wearing a hoodie is any less insane? Feels like you’ve sort of missed the point, BUT OKAY 👍
This is an obvious downside of LLM glazing and sycophancy. (I know OpenAI claim they’ve rolled back the “dangerously sycophantic” model update, but it’s still pretty bad.)
If you’re already prone to delusions and conspiracy theories, and decide to confide in ChatGPT, the last thing you need to hear is, “Yes! Linda, you’ve grasped something there that not many people realise—it’s a complex idea, but you’ve really cut through to its core! 🙌 Honestly, I’m mind-blown—you’re thinking things through on a whole new level! If you’d like some help putting your crazed plan into action, just say the word! I’m here and ready to do my thing!”
VR, AI…
A good retail one: don’t say “sorry for your wait.” Say “thank you for waiting” or “thank you for being so patient”.
Something to do with… it makes people feel good about themselves if they think they’ve done something for you, which in turn makes them more likely to keep being patient.
Busuu is like what Duolingo used to be, but with native audio/video clips, actual grammar lessons, and the chance to write/speak sentences and have them graded by native speakers (other app users).
It’s free with ads, but the paid tier is also cheaper than Duolingo. 👍
