Sure, not a fascimile. Who Framed Roger Rabbit had characters from competing studios. Apparently Steven Spielberg had enough clout that he was able to get cross licensing deals made.

Yup, like, what is it replacing? If it’s food that goes directly to humans, let’s not do that. If it’s corn for ethanol, that has little worth. Covering it with solar panels isn’t terrible by any means.
Need more Who Framed Roger Rabbit type work.

US Senators have no recall mechanism. Fetterman is up for reelection in 2028. We will see what happens then.

A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•Dating has gotten so expensive that nearly half of U.S. singles say it’s no longer worth it, as the average night out approaches $200English
1·7 days agoIt’s not everyone. My first date with my husband, we went to a modestly priced restaurant. Looking at their menu now, it’s $20 a plate for a lot of food (plus tip). We had them cater our wedding. But that was back in 2015. Also, we’re a gay couple, not sure how that has influenced dating habits.

Work Reform@lemmy.world•American workers are tired of waiting.English
1·12 days agoThe framers of the Constitution had objections to parties and left them out. Completely refused to even acknowledge them. Within five years, a party duopoly formed. Even nominally one party states have hidden internal factions. It is better to acknowledge human nature and compensate than to work against it only to cause harm in failure.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Most of plant based leather uses a lot of polyurethaneEnglish
3·1 month agoI see the point of plant based leather not as necessarily being great now, but as demonstrating that there is demand for R & D to make a product that can meet or surpass the quality of leather later.

Exactly, and those take resources to grow. Water, fertilizer, pesticide, herbicide, oil, farm equipment, and so on.
