Apple didn’t have a stylus, but there were third party styluses with rubber tips available. It worked well for its time.

4·10 days agoPostgreSQL is a goated database. It’s rock solid.
No clue why you’d find it gross. I’ll take it over MySQL, OracleDB or MariaDB any day.
When I went back to college about 10 years ago, I did everything on an iPad. From note taking to studying. Everything was done digitally and synced to online backups.
That would be your opinion. It deserved game of the year in my personal opinion, in addition to the music award.

8·2 months agoWithout accounting for the cost of a PC being so crazy, you really don’t need a college course to install and run Linux, or to setup steam on it.
Give it a shot on an old/cheap device someday. It’s come a very long way in usability.

21·5 months agoYour sound card would probably work without issue. Don’t rely on the manufacturers website about drivers when it comes to that.
For gamepass, you have to either give that up, play on Xbox, or stay with windows. That’s something that Microsoft’s will never support on Linux.

I wanted to try the Affinity suite but found it doesn’t work on Linux. I also tried running it via wine but had massive issues. I’d gladly pay if they release it for Linux. Until then, I’ll use free alternatives.

1·5 months agoJust curious, which software do you have to run on windows? I used to think alternatives for photography weren’t good enough but I changed my mind recently. Alternatives exist, but just like switching from windows, it requires the willingness to relearn how to do things I was used to in adobe lightroom and photoshop.

Fuck uber.
I needed to take a ride from the airport to my home, and uber quoted me $150 for a 30 min ride. I jumped into a waiting taxi and paid $90 instead. At least the cab driver would see a good chunk of that money.
More context, he said this on June 19th, the day Juneteenth is celebrated across America.
It’s a holiday to commemorate the end of slavery in America.
He obviously doesn’t want any holidays related to black people to be celebrated.

I’ll just leave you with my experience.
I used to be obese. During the pandemic I started tracking my food intake via one of the many apps. It helped me lose about 60 pounds. I was more fit, liked the way I looked a lot more, and also took up biking as a form of exercise.
Fast forward a few years, and I gained a lot of the weight back. I’m not as heavy as I once was, but I’ve got about 40 pounds to lose now. Started dropping weight again by tracking my food intake religiously.
Vomiting or pooping will not help you. Start by evaluating the food you keep in your house. Get rid of any temptations like cookies or chips. Make a meal plan and learn how to cook at home. Look at a food tracking app (I use Cronometer at the moment), and start to track every thing you eat. If you can keep your daily calorie intake at a deficit of 500 you WILL lose weight at a rate of 1 pound a week.
Weight loss is a sustained goal, and you should be prepared to make long term lifestyle changes and stick to it. It’s not an easy thing to do but you can do it.
