    Later:

Congress slams Trump before going into a strongly-worded 3-week recess for spring break

I swear to fucking god if I was as useless as our legislative class, I’d be run out of my goddamn industry with pitchforks and black-balled for life.

Trump to Congress: Your presence is no longer demanded by the nation, so, by my authority, you are dissolved. Terminated.

Basically, what did they think was going to happen when the Supreme Court game him Carte Blanka powers to do whatever he wanted.

The thing is that they didn’t. If I understood the Supreme Court decision, what they did was saying that official actions of the head of state have to be tried by the legislature and not the courts, which is a common arrangement in other countries. The Congress is the one writing blank checks by refusing to impeach and convict Presidents based on party politics.

          Ding ding! You got it!

This mess with Trump is another symptom of our Congress being more intent on taking bribes campaign donations and retaining their personal power than handling the business of the nation.

Not to mention an “official act” likely can’t be defined as intentionally ignoring the supreme courts ruling. Not only can Congress file impeachment and the Senate remove him, I don’t see how they couldn’t charge him with treason for doing so. Will they, no. But it should be fully within the parameters of what the supreme Court ruled

Yet fuckhead McConnell said that trump needed to be tried in court, not in Congress via impeachment. If neither branch will step up, it’s carte blanche and the game is over.

Why should the administration respond to Congress any more than they should respond to my local boys and girls club? Are they actually going to do something?

Why would they respond. The most powerful branches of our system has decided to be chattel and have no respect for themselves or their positions. I never realized how important it was that when I was young a senator was a senator first and a party member second. Heck the state they was from was often more important.

Well friends, hey, at least they tried. A dozen written requests. I don’t know what more you expect them to do. Maybe a performative speech or rally will help.
