Last time he was close to ending up in jail, but got pardoned by trump (BTW: US works with a wrong precedent that started with Nixon, the president should only be allowed to pardon only after there is a conviction, otherwise it allows for shenanigans of making others do crime for you, giving a blank pardons or even a possibility of pardoning yourself).
