I keep seeing conflicting things, because it’s a meme now.
Is his actual daughter trans, or did he just write about a trans daughter? I’m so confused, and it’s made worse because I’m seeing people say they’ll never read his work again because of this. Wtf is going on?

First, Tom Clancy died 12 years ago. So anything trans related he may or may not have written has absolutely no relation to todays political climate.
He had 4 kids with his first wife and 1 with his second, but I see nothing about any of their identities.

I read all the Jack Ryan books. Jack Ryan has a daughter (cisgender) and I think she’s a teacher like her mum. He has one son, Jack Ryan Jr, ego isn’t trans either.
I don’t know about his real family. No minor characters spring to mind.
Also a bunch of people write as Tom Clancy now.
