Some thoughts about my experience getting my parents' new devices up and running, and how bad it keeps getting today.

im going through this bs right now with a new phone. It is ridiculous the amount of hidden settings that are obfuscated by generic settings which conceal the background settings that still allow for data theft.

You need to enable dev mode, connect to a pc in debug mode to run ADB so you can carefully delete all the spyware using curated lists of files that deleting wont brick the phone. It is exhausting. Linux for all phones plz.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I’m looking for an OS that will work with my current phone. Not one that requires I buy a new one. It’s also American and, sorry, that’s a deal breaker nowadays.
