Different games and different genres for different people. Its a great series. I love the gameplay and I love the story and world.

Agree. It just feels like a blank world with a weak story and even weaker combat. I couldn’t find any desire to go on. I think I played KH3? Lost interest after forcing myself for a couple hours.

So the only one you’ve played is KH3? Of course you’re going to be confused about the story. Even going through the other games before getting to KH3 is a bit confusing.

The games draw for me is growing up with Disney and the story that is admittedly complicated and out of order with bitw of lore sprinkled in through mobile games. The boss fights and fan service I quite like. It has a lot to do with growing up with it. Starting with 3 would be disorienting fir sure. 2, 3, and birth by sleep are my favorites. The first one aged a bit badly in my opinion but it was its start. The combat it Birth by Sleep is different with cycling moves with reuse timers instead of having a mana system.
