no offense to comic fans. just saying from corporate pov, the bigger the budget, the greater the company’s confidence in the character.
a comic, I’m guessing, costs a few thousand? maybe 6 digits for a long run with the best writer and artists? tv pilot or one-shot with a pro film crew has gotta be at least 7 digits, on the low end.
considering Seven’s popularity, I’d say this budget is insulting and probably pandering to trying to stay unnoticed by the MAGAts (see: Paramount bending the knee to cheetoh face) who hate to see female protagonists, especially ones who used to wear skin-tight outfits while kissing Chakotay and have upgraded to kissing women while wearing … normal? non-stretch? clothes.
