I woke to today’s news that one of the Trump cabinet’s bigger boofheads – the uber Christian nationalist, crusader-fantasist and “secretary of war” Pete Hegseth had announced that America would have a public firing squad execution of murderer Nidal Hasan.
Reckless global militarisation including a threat at the UN to annihilate Iran, a litany of sexual misconduct allegations against the commander in chief, claims of blatant presidential corruption … they have all ceased to surprise and shock us, so inured has the world become to Donald Trump’s monstrous narcissism and maladministration.
But now we have execution TV.
The SATIRICAL news paper The Onion predicted this in april.
Guys, it’s satirical. Not a example. For fuck sake. The entire world already knows intensively you are all just a bunch of insanely dumb idiots. We don’t need more proof. Or maybe, if you so desperately want to become like Idiocracy, do what they did: listen to smart people.

This is a trap. This extremely violent and barbaric form of execution has been chosen purely to piss people off. The MAGAts will spin any and all outrage over this to fit their narrative. Nidal Hasan is a convicted murderer, responsible for the deaths of 13 people. Anyone who speaks out against his public execution will be labeled “soft on crime” or “pro-murderer”, it doesn’t matter if that’s not what you mean, that’s how it will be viewed by the right and how they will parrot it to others. And the MAGA morons will lump those critics in with Hasan, and be conditioned to believe they deserve the same punishment. Poorly educated voters don’t understand nuance.

I’ll admit it’s a bit hypocritical of me to simultaneously abhor the idea of televising this execution whilst also hopelessly awaiting the executions of many current top US officials.
Theyre doing it to glorify violence. Youre doing it to remove cancerous scum from power.

The good news is that by the end of the Trump presidency this horrific low won’t look nearly as bad as the fresh horrors that soon await us!
