I would like to use just one because I think it’s a cute way to express that what I do is pretty neat and also that I’m a real human being, not some corporate robot. It’s the fish emoji and it’s relevant to my work. But I don’t know enough about LinkedIn etiquette to know if that’s appropriate.

P.S. I’m aware LinkedIn sucks and no one actually likes it but everyone at my workplace seems to have one so I felt I should make one too. Thanks!

Edit: Okay, fine… 😔 I will remove it. Thank you for the help everyone!

    Wonderful day! 🪐

Ha-ha! Of course, it’s okay to add emojis (or even emotes (/ o.o)/) to an accountable CV for responsible job to get trusted for! 😂
Especially those for security 🔒, privacy 🕵️‍♀️, transparency 👁‍🗨…

If I would look at such CV in search 🧭 for a trusted developer 👩‍💻, sys-admin 💻, manager 📜, accountant 💸, and for military forces ( -.-)7, sure thing the pretty pictures would increase the feel of trust to the level of the outer space and beyond!!!1 💪

Oh! And why just LinkedIn? Perhaps to enhance the sense of accountability, some would want to add emojis to some documents, including employment contracts, Banking issues, weaponry certificates, and passports! Let’s make it shine in sparkles! ✨

Look! LOL! OMG! This is the colleague on fields we need! They have these lovely emojis! Let’s hire them right now!
Since, “There’s no crying in Special Forces!”

Not like that lol. Like this:

I currently work as a Laboratory Biologist where I maintain cultures of both vertebrate and invertebrate aquatic species, and conduct toxicity tests to determine effects on their health, reproduction, and survival. This means I get to work with live organisms (🐟), and includes monitoring water quality, as well as acute and chronic toxicity testing of water, sediment, soil, and effluent samples.

But yes I would un-ironically much rather read linkedin posts 💻 with emojis included 😜. Makes me want to kms ☠️ (and everyone else) a little less ☺️. I’m glad I’m not a recruiter 👍 nor looking to get recruited! And I work 🖥️ with a bunch of fellow GenZ 🧒🧑 who do constantly use emojis 🫢 and gifs in our work group chats.

I hope I did that all correctly 💯.

I mentioned this in another comment but will just say it again. I guess my intention is to make my bio a bit less formal in a harmless way. I’m not looking for a job right now so I’m not worried about appealing to recruiters, but I would like for people who come across my LinkedIn to view me as approachable and someone who genuinely enjoys the job they’re doing.

I do like to use the 🙂 emoji as well but I thought a fish would be appropriate because I work with them.

Emoji’s 😁 is like garlic 🧄 you can’t just make due with a single clove but instead add several heads of garlic. 🧄🧄🧄

Challenge yourself to add as many emojis you can!
