It’s weird that techno drug dealers are in charge of governments and economies and are trying to force everyone to do their drugs.

Why are we sharing this? Why is this important? CEO of Oreo says you should eat 10 oreos a day to stay healthy. Shocker.

Because it’s to remind us of the world they took from us.

Can’t play in the streets? Yeah, the millionaires and billionaires bought up all the land, turned it into a freeway, strip mall, and a parking lot in one, and said it was your fault for remembering it with too rose-coloured glasses.

For this analogy to work, you aren’t making kids not play on the street anymore. You’re purposefully running over kids playing in the street and telling them they should get cars so they can start rampages of their own.

Damn bro, I used to play on the basketball court or the play ground… I’d usually take a street that I had to cross to get to it. But damn. It was rough being a boomer who “didn’t” have a park…

Is he suggesting that playing in the streets was something he used to do before the advent of cars? Like there were all that roads everywhere with kids just playing on them willy nilly, until one day Henry Ford met General Motor and said, “You know what we oughta do with all these fuckin’ roads?” And ever since then, kids haven’t been able to play on them any more?

Is that the version of history we’re pedaling here?

The other day, a group of kids were playing road hockey in my neighbourhood. Rather than run them over, I waited for them to pull their nets aside, then drove on. Whether he believes it or not, we can still allow kids to play in the streets. It’s probably safer for them than spending their time with AI search bots.

Even if it were historically accurate, look at the absolutely depressing statement that makes it : I had to give up playing in the street to make way for cars, that’s just the way it is.

Roads have been around for thousands of years, but not really the type of roads he’s talking about. Especially since he doesn’t remember them before cars anyway.

You just reminded me of a friend who had a B.A. in psychology, an LLB (law degree) and wanted to either become attorney general or do an agricultural science (AgS) degree in order to have either BALLBAG or BALLBAgS as his qualifications after his name.

And many people realize now car-first urban design is a bad idea. There are pushbacks to make streets pedestrian first
