One leg baggy, other leg skinny
It’s the ciiiiircle of pants
One way to tell where we are on the cycle is check to see what people between the ages of 35-40 are wearing.
What does that tell you, to do the opposite?
Yes and no it depends on if you live in a small town or big city.
Big city😗
Ah. Then you just inverse the inverse of what not people outside of 35 - 40 specifically are wearing and divide it by two and you should be good
I can’t always buy my kind of stuff at cheap (enough) places. A few years back it was hella difficult to find straight fit jeans, and even now it’s rare to find one in the right size and colour. Bootcut (?) jeans made a pretty belated comeback in my country back when I was in my mid 20s, and I don’t think I can find them anymore. If I could, I would wear a not-too-wildly-bootcut one for summer.
I don’t know if I was just too old when we switched to the skinny pants trend but I found them terrible on my balls
That’s because they tried to mix them with low cut pants which was also popular in the 2000s. They are much better now.
The one time my girlfriend bought me a pair of skinny jeans I tried them on and couldn’t bend at the knees, she burst out laughing immediately, firmly believe she bought them 100% as a prank
Things are getting a little JNCly.
Quick! Kill all the designers before it goes back!
Industrial advertising, fashion is a demand creation system.
Welp, I’m into neither stockings nor potato bags. Just plain straight preferably black jeans with deep pockets
Meanwhile I am eagerly awaiting the return of low-rise.
So I tried to apply Hegelian dialectic to this. Either style is the thesis and the opposite style is the antithesis. There’s something about each style that isn’t appealing to each generation and so they move away from it. There’s a lack of synthesis so we never move past these two styles and never create a new one. We are locked in the vicious cycle. This suggests something inhuman is interfering with the process.
I wear what I like(I wear batman suite)
Except they’re not baggy, they’re just…wide. And short.
When can we be in the no pants era? 😩
Anytime you wanna come over.
Kilts never went out of style.
I’ve worn a utila kilt several times. Let the balls hang low, let them Swing to and fro.
I’ve lost it to a move, though. I need to get another one. They our comfy.
Never understood why males couldn’t wear skirts. This doesn’t make sense.
No real reason except to separate us. It’s all arbitrary, so pick whatever rules you like and throw the rest in the garbage.
me and the boys entering our tunic era
Skinny pants are a satanic device solely made to torture the inappropriately shaped
I used to think that until I found drop crotch jogger jeans. Loose up top but skinny through the calves and cuffed to stay out of the mud. If I get extra longs I can wear them up over my bellybutton and the crotch is just normal. I looked for and found them when I found myself fantasizing about living life in my jogger scrub pants (where usually mud is the least worrisome thing that could wind up on my pants hems). Also they make my hips look huge in comparison to my tiny ankles and top so I get to look like a Pixar mom.
The day I wear drop crotch is the day my GF dies laughing
One leg baggy, the other leg skinny
I love this.
If nothing else, as a statement
Thighs baggy, calves skinny.
Vomit on his sweater already
This. I prefer a more slim fit, but I’ve got some cake to fit. Too many mens jeans are cut for guys with Hank Hill butts.
Jodhpur pants?
Hammer pants?
I remember in 8th grade, my buddy got the first pair of JNCOs in our friend group. He was so excited, he goes “AND JUST LOOK WHAT I CAN FIT IN THE POCKETS!” and proceeded to pull out an entire 2-liter bottle of Mountain Dew.
Similar story in my life but a 12-pack of Smirnoff Ice
Zima?
Unfortunately JNCO went out of business 7 years ago; shame, really - it could have made for a great moonshot stock bet! 😅
funny how so many brands have tried to break into the denim market with $150+ jeans, yet levi’s is still the go-to after 100 years. even more so now that they make the $20 levi’s signature brand at walmart-- just as good as the “real” ones and even more comfortable
Levi’s are going to shit though.
The 559s I bought in 2022 are starting to come apart. The 559s I bought in 2023 split at the inseam a few months ago. The 559s I bought a year ago blew apart last week when I set down a heavy box. They are observably getting worse as time goes on.
The Levi’s from the early 2000s lasted 15+ years.I used to buy Levi’s, but not only have they dropped quality, they introduced some weird “in the know” naming scheme where they still make “old” Levi’s, but just charge $200 a pop for them. Now I just grab Kirkland.
Levi’s in Europe has been shit for decades so welcome to the club. Sadly it seems only premium denim isn’t fragile shit nowadays.
